Spain Fashion Exhibition brings the latest trends made in Spain back to Seoul
Professional buyers and the trade press have an exclusive appointment at the Imperial Palace Hotel in the South Korean capital on 26 and 27 January.
Seoul is always hungry for the latest trends. Now it is embracing the very best in Spanish design. In the first quarter of 2014 alone, more than 420,000 pairs of shoes, worth €6.7 million, were exported to South Korea, while garment sales rose 17%, to €10.6 million. The figures speak for themselves.
In this buoyant scenario, ICEX Spain Exports & Investments has teamed up with the Spanish Embassy’s Office for Economic and Commercial Affairs in Seoul to organise the fourth Spain Fashion Exhibition. One of the earliest events on the international fashion calendar, it gives professional buyers and the trade press a preview of Spanish design trends for Autumn/Winter 2015/16. On 26 and 27 January, 17 companies from all the different sectors of the fashion industry will be exhibiting in the Dubhe Hall rooms of the Imperial Palace Hotel in Seoul. Spanish footwear will be represented by Pons Quintana, Sixtyseven, Estefanía Marco, MTNG, Hispanitas, Pepe Castell/Cressy, Sabrinas, Kanna, Pedro Miralles/Weekend, Riva di Mare, Vlöd, Apple Love, Notton, Starlove, Himalaya and XTI. Garment brands include Viriato, Lavand and Hakei. The latter will also be showcasing its footwear and leather goods, alongside Lupo Barcelona 1920, Olimpo/Miguel Bellido and Pertegaz.
A few days later, from 29 to 30 January, Tokyo will be hosting the 23rd Shoes From Spain Exhibition, organised by FICE, the Spanish Footwear Industries Federation, in partnership with the Spanish Embassy’s Office for Economic and Commercial Affairs in the city, giving Japanese buyers a sneak preview of the collections of 12 Spanish footwear companies. In the first seven months of 2014, exports to Japan totalled €33.4 million and 1.7 million pairs, accounting for growth of 5% and 23% in value and volume, respectively.
